Getting prepared for the implementation of the Standard Based Curriculum: Digital Literacy and ICT Integration and other interventions in Schools

We are proud to announce that our school’s digital troubleshooter recently attended a workshop focused on digital literacy and ICT integration in schools, held at Chances Hotel, Ho. This event brought together troubleshooters from forty schools in the Volta region, all dedicated to enhancing digital literacy and ICT integration in their varoius schools.

The workshop aimed to equip our digital troubleshooters to support teachers in acquiring essential digital literacy skills, enabling them to effectively integrate ICT into teaching and learning. This training is particularly timely, as ICT integration is a critical component of the new Standard-Based Curriculum, set to roll out in October 2024.

During the workshop, our digital troubleshooter gained valuable insights and practical strategies for:

  • Assessing teachers’ digital literacy needs
  • Developing customized training programs
  • Troubleshooting common technical issues

Our school is committed to staying at the forefront of educational innovation, and this workshop has empowered our digital troubleshooter to lead the way in ICT integration. We are excited to see the positive impact on teacher confidence and student learning outcomes.

Other workshops aimed at preparing the staff to effectively implement the new curriculum were attendend. One of such workshops is the Intervention English Worshop held in Sunyani which was attended by one of the hardworking English tutors from the school. Curreently underway is the Intervention Mathematics workshop also in Sunyani and our school is represented by the HOD of Maths and ICT.

You would recall the popular PLC and DPLC, both of which are just a few inititives and programmes brought on board to prepare school teachers and other stakeholders in other to improve learning outcomes in our schools.
